I have never experienced such an amazing medical appointment. He knows how to mix professional with casual conversation perfectly to make the experience comfortable and still addressing any and all concerns. All staff was warm and welcoming. If you have felt unheard or like you will never have a solution for TMJ pain I truly feel this is the place to try.

I had an appointment with Dr. Coburn earlier this spring and it was a totally bizarre experience... Very little of my appointment was spent on me and my jaw pain. Instead he talked about expensive equipment he wants to buy for his office, how many ENT referrals he gets each week, the medical papers he's reading, how he makes more money than his wife, why he charges so much for his appointments, provided some totally irrelevant anecdotes about other patients and also modestly claims that he has more expertise than anyone within 1000 miles (unlikely given our proximity to Seattle and Portland). He's clearly very proud of his accomplishments, but would do well to divert some of that attention to the person he's supposed to be treating. Unfortunately he came across as much more interested in himself than in me as the patient. He didn't seem to listen to me and completely brushed off or dismissed a lot of what I said. I filled out a ton of paperwork as requested, waited three months for the appointment and was naturally confused about why my appointment with him had so little direction and why his treatment recommendations at the end were essentially an after thought, jotted down almo

Dr. Coburn and the whole staff at TMJ and Orofacial Pain are absolutely wonderful! Dr. Coburn is incredibly knowledgeable and was more than happy to explain his process and answer any questions I had. He is also very personable, and I feel completely confident in the quality of care I received. My jaw pain is practically gone, and I am so thankful to Dr. Coburn and the rest of the office!

I was referred to Dr. John Coburn at TMJ and Orofacial Pain by my dentist for popping in my jaw on one side, along with pain and frequent migraines. After my first visit, Dr. Coburn diagnosed me with TMJ and recommended a thick night guard to help align my jaw while sleeping. He was very honest from the startβhe never promised the popping would completely go away, but said the goal was to stop it from getting worse and reduce the pain. After about four months of wearing my night guard, my jaw popping completely disappeared! Itβs been such a relief after dealing with this for nearly six years and thinking it would never go away. While I know the popping could come back someday, I fully trust Dr. Coburn to help me again if it does. Everyone in the office is incredibly kind and understandingβthey always take the time to explain everything and make sure youβre comfortable. This treatment wasnβt cheap, but it was worth every penny for the results and the care I received. I canβt recommend Dr. Coburn enough if youβre struggling with TMJ issues!

Dr. Howard change my quality of life. I was battling with horrible jaw and facial pain, and had seen so many doctors, no one was as experienced or well versed in TMJ and oral facial pain as Dr. Howard. He is such a gem, so thankful I found his research online and found out he was in spokane!
